49) Andy Hugo Gustafson - Master - 1942

 From the Washington Rural Heritage Website:  



Andy Gustafson was born in Ellensburg, Washington on January 3, 1902, and he graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1920. For the next four years, Andy attended Washington State College in Pullman, Washington and majored in dairy manufacturing. In 1925, he became employed by the Kittitas County Dairymen’s Association and worked for them for the next 41 years. Andy married Mary Hartman in 1928, and the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1988. Andy was a member of the Masonic and Elks Lodges and the Knights Templars. He died on January 8, 1994 at the age of 82 years.




He worked for 41 years for what was then the Kittitas County Dairyman's Association, which later became Darigold in Ellensburg. At the time of his retirement he was production manager.

 

Andy Gustafson is second from left in this 1930 photo.  This building still stands at 400 W. 5th (adjacent to twin city foods.)





This is Andy Gustafson's Past Commander Medal, for service as the head officer of the Knights Templar, Temple Commandery #5 - Ellensburg
