Ivory Gavel from Nome Alaska 1906



The minutes of the lodge form 1906 indicate that "An Ivory gavel was presented to the Lodge, a gift by Bro. E.D. Hodge of Nome AK"

Although there are other seemingly ivory gavels floating around, this one seems to be that gavel:



The head of the gavel is cut from a walrus tusk.




Wonderful piece of Masonic History.  Now to figure out who precisely Bro. E.D. Hodge of Nome AK was.
